Position Summary
We are seeking a junior Family Lawyer to join our growing practice. The successful candidate will manage a range of family law matters -- including separation and divorce, parenting arrangements, child and spousal support, and property division -- with professionalism, strategic insight, and compassion.
This position offers flexibility: remote work is welcome, provided you attend in-person client meetings and Court appearances as needed. You'll have the freedom to manage your practice your way while being supported by a motivated and collegial team.
Key Responsibilities
Represent clients in family law matters, including separation, divorce, parenting and custody disputes, support issues, and property division.
Draft pleadings, financial statements, affidavits, agreements, and other legal documents with accuracy and clarity.
Appear in the Supreme Court of British Columbia and possibly Provincial Court (Family Division) as required.
Negotiate fair, practical settlements while maintaining a professional and respectful approach.
Conduct legal research using tools such as LexisNexis to stay current with legal developments.
Provide sound, empathetic legal advice to clients navigating emotionally charged issues.
Manage files efficiently and collaborate with colleagues and support staff to ensure exceptional client service.
Qualifications
Bachelor of Laws (LL.B.) or Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree.
Member in good standing with the Law Society of British Columbia.
Demonstrated experience or strong interest in family law.
Excellent negotiation, advocacy, and communication skills.
Strong legal writing and analytical abilities.
Compassionate, solutions-focused approach to family disputes.
Positive, team-oriented attitude -- we take our work seriously, but not ourselves.
Comfortable working independently, including in a remote setting.
Compensation
We believe your effort should directly shape your reward. Guardian Law offers a base salary that is reviewed and recalculated twice per year using a universal formula tied to your collected billings. In short: your compensation reflects your performance.

Pay: $70,000.00-$100,000.00 per year
