We are looking for an inquisitive, forward-thinking, positive and collaborative new university graduate with a degree in computer science or IT related with some cybersecurity courses.

The Junior Cybersecurity Analyst\xe2\x80\x99s primary role is to operate information security controls, assist IT teams and business users in maintaining compliance with Aviva Group information security standards and policies and reducing operational risks to Aviva.

You will be part of our Cybersecurity Security Advisory Services team.
You will have experience with Information Technology and entry level knowledge of Information Security principles.

Support the Information Security Managers efficiently in partner management by maintaining solid relationships with Risk & Compliance, Privacy, IT Infrastructure and Operational Business Units.

Please note this role is hybrid with expectations to attend our Markham head office location once a month up to once a week.

What you\xe2\x80\x99ll do

As a Junior Cybersecurity analyst, you\'ll need to:

• Provide advice and mentorship to staff on issues such as secure firewall rules, access to third party web sites, portable software risks, privileged access, change management and policy exception processes.
• Liaise with internal partners in relation to cyber security issues and provide future recommendations
• Generate reports and analysis for both technical and non-technical staff and partners
• Maintain an information security risk register and assist with risk and compliance inquires relating to information security
• Maintain security processes or upgrade existing ones
• Keep up to date with the latest security and technology developments research/evaluate emerging cyber security threats and ways to manage and improve them.

The key accountabilities of the role are:-

• Operate information security controls in an effective manner, to reduce operational risks.
• Address daily requests from IT and business users on security related matters like firewall and proxy requests, policy exceptions, provide summaries and reports to management.
• Promote awareness to Aviva\xe2\x80\x99s information security standards and policies.
• Provide assistance to ensure adequate and timely resolutions to all audit/compliance review issues assigned to the team.
• Provide the required support to management on matters related to information security.
• Related Data Analysis and Reports to support management.

What you\xe2\x80\x99ll bring

• Basic knowledge and troubleshooting of issues related to networking, firewalls, proxies, access management.
• Outstanding problem solving skills
• Willing to actively pursue recognized information security certification, such as SSCP, CISSP, Cloud basic security, etc.
• Must have University degree in Computer Science, Computer Software Engineering or IT related with preferably some courses in Cybersecurity.
• Network or application support background is preferred
• A basic security certification CompTIA Security+ preferred
• Ability to learn and pick up new skills to advance in this domain and progress towards a Security Advisor role.
