We are seeking a Junior Corporate Lawyer with a strong background in contract law to support the legal needs of our family office and its portfolio companies. This is a unique opportunity to step into a role that blends traditional corporate/commercial legal work with the agility and variety of an entrepreneurial family office. You will take the lead on contract drafting and negotiation, while also gaining hands-on exposure to governance, compliance, and investment-related matters across different sectors.
Key Responsibilities
Draft, review, and negotiate a wide range of commercial contracts, including supplier, service, licensing, and partnership agreements.
Provide practical legal advice directly to management and ownership teams.
Support corporate governance, compliance, and regulatory matters across multiple businesses.
Conduct targeted legal research to support contract negotiations, compliance, and business decisions.
Assist with structuring, financing, and managing investments and joint ventures.
Identify legal risks and propose creative, business-focused solutions.
Liaise with external counsel as needed for specialized matters.
Maintain organized corporate records and ensure compliance across all entities.
Qualifications
J.D. or LL.B. and membership in good standing with the Law Society of Ontario.
Minimum 2 years of post-call corporate/commercial law experience (in-house or private practice).
Strong contract drafting and negotiation skills with a keen eye for detail.
Exceptional written and verbal communication skills for clear, precise, and business-friendly legal advice.
Ability to conduct focused legal research and apply findings to practical business needs.
Comfortable advising on a broad range of legal issues, often in real-time with senior decision-makers.
Ability to juggle competing priorities across diverse industries.
Entrepreneurial mindset, adaptable, and eager to grow within a non-traditional legal setting.
What We Offer
