Overview

Shaikh Law Firm is seeking a driven and detail-oriented

Junior Associate Lawyer

to join our team, with a focus on

Family Law

and

Real Estate Law

. This role is ideal for a recently called lawyer (0-3 years post-call) who is eager to gain meaningful, hands-on experience in a structured, high-volume legal practice.

The successful candidate will receive mentorship and training while gradually developing the ability to manage client files with increasing independence.

Key Responsibilities

Family Law

Assist in preparing court documents, financial statements, pleadings, and separation agreements Support senior lawyers with client meetings, research, and drafting Appear on simple motions, case conferences, or assist at hearings (as appropriate) Communicate with clients to gather disclosure and provide updates

Real Estate Law

Assist with purchase, sale, refinance, and title transfer files Review title searches, prepare closing documents, and coordinate with lenders Communicate with clients regarding ID verification, key dates, and closing documents Use Teraview, Unity, and other tools as trained

General Duties

Maintain organized files and update client records in practice management software (Cosmolex) Manage dockets and time entries Participate in team meetings, training sessions, and ongoing professional development

Qualifications

LL.B. or J.D. and Member in good standing with the Law Society of Ontario

0-3 years post-call experience

(students recently called in 2024-2025 are welcome to apply) Strong legal research, writing, and organizational skills Excellent interpersonal and communication abilities Familiarity with DivorceMate, Unity, or Teraview is an asset but not required A genuine interest in family and real estate law practice

Pay: $60,000.00-$120,000.00 per year
