Position Overview

The Junior Controller works closely with the Controller and management team to ensure accurate financial reporting, timely processing of transactions, and compliance with OEM and internal standards. This position supports daily dealership accounting activities and plays a key role in maintaining a solid financial foundation for the dealership.

Key Responsibilities

General Accounting

Maintain and update the general ledger daily Post all new and used vehicle deals Complete monthly bank reconciliations Prepare monthly OEM financial statements

Accounts Payable

Enter AP invoices and incoming bills of sale Process AP cheques Reconcile monthly AP statements Pay, post, and track utilities, credit cards, and recurring bills

Accounts Receivable

Issue monthly AR statements Clear and post customer pay cash till transactions

Banking & Payments

Post and reconcile EFTs and wire payments Set up EFTs, e-transfers, and digital payments Process lien payouts with the OEM

Dealership Operations Support

Post daily sales and service tills Ensure accurate and timely posting of all dealership transactions

Qualifications

Accounting diploma or degree preferred 1-3 years of accounting experience preferred (automotive dealership experience an asset) Strong understanding of accounting principles Experience with dealership management systems considered an advantage High attention to detail and strong organizational skills Ability to work independently and meet deadlines Strong communication skills and a collaborative mindset
