Key Responsibilities
Assist in preparing accurate cost estimates, budgets and schedules for new and ongoing residential/light commercial projects
Assist in tender preparation and submission, including quantity take-offs and pricing.
Support pre-bid activities, including job site visits and scope reviews
Source and liaise with suppliers and subcontractors to obtain competitive pricing.
Maintain organized and detailed records for all estimates, bids and project documents
Help maintain budgets and ensure projects align with scheduling along with safety and quality standards.
Skills
Strong understanding of construction methods, materials, and safety requirements.
Proficiency with estimating software, MS Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook).
Strong math and analytical skills with high attention to detail.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
Ability to manage multiple tasks and competing priorities simultaneously
Adaptable to a fast-paced and dynamic environment
Experience
1-2 years of related construction or estimating experience (co-op or practicum considered).
Experience in residential or light commercial construction considered an asset.
Diploma or degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Estimating, or related field (or equivalent combination of education and experience).
Certifications (Preferred/Asset)
WHMIS, Fall Protection, First Aid
Clean driving record, with valid class 5 drivers' license with reliable transportation.
Must be legally entitled to work in Canada
