Overview
SRC has an opening for a Junior Building Operator to join the Facilities & Security team to support the general maintenance of SRC facilities. This is a full-time position with some on-call and emergency out-of-office hours duties.
Accountabilities
Perform general building maintenance and trouble shoot issues with facilities related items such as doors, windows and locks
Mount, hang and secure objects on walls as needed (e.g., shelves, picture frames and fixtures)
Assemble and install furniture, including desks, chairs and other office equipment
Assist with seasonal groundskeeping tasks
Maintain a safe and organized work environment, ensuring all tools and materials are safely stored
Assist in setup and breakdown of SRC spaces for meetings and events
Monitor and report any larger maintenance needs to senior team members and managers
Participate as a member of SRC's emergency management team and assist the Health, Safety and Risk team with OH&S activities
Qualifications
Experience completing basic building maintenance tasks, repairs and assembly
Construction trade certificate or apprenticeship experience is an asset
Building Operator certification(s) preferred
Valid Class 5 drivers licence
Able to lift and move up to 50 lbs
Skills
Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot and resolve issues independently
Comfortable working autonomously and taking initiative to complete tasks with minimal supervision
Mechanical aptitude with an understanding of how to use a variety of hand tools and power tools safely and effectively
Effective time management and organizational skills
The chosen candidate will be required to provide an original Criminal Record Check that is satisfactory to SRC prior to the commencement of any employment duties. The Criminal Record Check must have been executed within the preceding 30 days of receipt.
This position is located in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan.
