We are a professional and energetic firm working on many ambitious projects.For over 20 years, we have provided full design services for clients desiring high-value custom designs with varying styles and sizes. This is an entry level architectural technologist role with the possibility of full-time employment upon completion of 4-month contract.You are a Junior Architectural Technologist with a keen eye for detail and a passion for smart design. While most of your day will be spent working on construction drawings and details, you will also be responsible for preparing as-existing drawings and design drawings.You will be expected to assist on site visits to obtain measurements and photographs. Juggling many projects will be a given, and the ability to meet deadlines and manage workflow is essential. You are comfortable working collaboratively as part of a small team, accepting constructive criticism and sharing ideas in an open studio-office environment.OpportunityYou will work on tasks with close guidance and direction from a Senior designer. You will spend your day in a typical office environment working with computers.   • Support project team in the development of a design through sketches, 3D BIM models, diagrams, massing studies, and other visual formats.
  • Assist in research of materials and building systems.
  • Develop plans, elevations, sections, and details as necessary to assist in the completion of permit and construction-ready drawing sets.
Qualifications
  • Currently enrolled (or recent graduate) of a post-secondary Building, Architectural Technology or related program working towards a technical diploma.
  • Basic understanding of Revit or AutoCAD and the use of it as a design tool.
  • Basic experience with the most recent design software (Sketch-up, Photoshop, and Illustrator, etc.) is preferred.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and Windows operating systems.
  • Ability to hand sketch and communicate concepts and ideas to others effectively.
  • Able to participate and collaborate in a project team setting.
  • Able to engage in creative and critical thought.
  • Able to interpret basic sketches, drawings, building program and other similar material.
  • Able to confidently navigate the latest Ontario Building code and interpret relevant information as it applies to a project.
  • A general understanding of building construction methods and materials is expected.
