A Junior Architectural Technologist - this individual will have a solid understanding of the construction document delivery process and ideally exposure to the complete design process from conceptual design through to construction completion. A person with a passion for architectural technology with a desire to learn and grow. An intermediate or better working knowledge of Revit. A good understanding of AutoCAD would be considered an asset. A minimum of two years of work experience as an architectural technologist is preferred. In this role the successful candidate will collaborate with architects, intern architects, architectural technologists, contract administrators and interior designers in an open studio environment. We\'re looking for a keen self-motivated studio member who can work independently and in a team environment, communicate effectively within the studio and with outside consultants.   • Work with the project team to produce technically successful architectural design and construction documentation.
  • Assist with developing work plans to assist project management.
  • Be familiar with specification format and requirements.
  • Assist in preparation of specifications, including researching of building products and systems.
  • Prepare or assist with the presentation drawings and illustrations.
  • Support the development of project technical details and specifications through research and engagement with construction industry suppliers.
  • Participate in site visits during design and construction phases.
  • Work with project team on coordination of engineering consultant documentation.
  • Assist with building code and by-law review and analysis.
  • Assist the contract administrator with contract administration duties.
  • Assist with quality control procedures and reviews.
  • Assist with digital and physical file maintenance.
Qualifications and Skill Sets
  • Recognized Degree in Architecture or Architectural Science or an Architectural Technology Diploma.
  • Preferred minimum of two years of architectural technology experience.
  • Intermediate to advanced knowledge of Revit and good understanding of AutoCAD.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, BlueBeam and Sketchup considered an asset.
  • Working knowledge of the Alberta Building Code / National Building Code.
  • Solid understanding of common construction systems and materials.
  • Strong technical, written, and verbal communication skills.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to meet deadlines effectively.
  • Be curious, willing to learn, and take accountability in your role.
