Develop tools and EUCs based on business requirements that will integrate with Canadian Tire Corporation store systems
Provide QC support and enhancements for existing tools and EUCs related to the above
Build and develop automation processes for new reporting based on requirements
As required, run existing automation processes (e.g. reporting, ad-hoc requests etc.) that enable information to be delivered to stores accurately.
Develop key reporting tools using MS Excel, VBA, Python and other data analytics tools (KNIME, Aginity, etc.)
Consult and problem solve on various business issues with cross functional groups
What you bring
Post Secondary education in retail management, computer programming, or other business related designation
Advanced programming skills using VBA, SQL and RESTful APIs
Knowledge in Python, Java, and JavaScript is an asset
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Excellent problem solving, listening, and time-management skills
2+ years of experience demonstrating programming skills
Ability to \xe2\x80\x98learn on the fly\xe2\x80\x99
Attention to detail with high quality end-products
Canadian Tire Retail experience and IBM AS/400 system knowledge is a strong asset

The Pro Hockey Life (PHL) Finance & Planning group is a dynamic team that provides critical insights and brings together key stakeholders in support of the business\xe2\x80\x99s long-term strategy. We play a key role in facilitating discussion and in identifying and analyzing the impacts of business decisions from a financial perspective. Reporting to the Manager, FP&A - Pro Hockey Life & Party City, the Senior Financial Analyst will play a key role within a dynamic FP&A team. This position utilizes strong analytical skills and financial knowledge to provide insights on key working capital and financial metrics for the PHL business. This position also plays an important role in the support finance provides to our business partners. In addition, the incumbent will be part of the budget and forecast cycles that play a key role in building out the strategies of the PHL business unit.
Prepare annual operating budgets and yearly forecasts as well as in-depth projections and long-term outlooks.
Provide support to the business by monitoring results versus prior year & budget/ forecast, and providing thorough analysis and investigating variances while identifying risks and opportunities with a focus on providing meaningful/actionable insights
Prepare, analyze and deliver month end review presentations to senior leaders and various teams in the business and in finance
Support the business with a fully analytical skillset, including developing operational reporting and executive dashboards, providing analysis, conclusions and recommendations for the business
Work with the Manager, FP&A to provide quantitative and qualitative decision support including proactive financial analysis
Works with business stakeholders in developing and analyzing Cost Benefit Analysis Presentations (CBAs) for new capital projects
Support the continuous improvement of the financial planning, forecasting, and reporting processes within the team to improve efficiency, and synergies.
Lead a variety of ad hoc projects as assigned by the Manager
Review key performance metrics (financial and business metrics) to improve existing reports and develop new reports
Foster strong working relationships across the businesses, and work proactively to identify opportunities for finance to act as a strategic business partner
Present findings to all levels of the organization\xe2\x80\x99s leadership in an understandable and compelling manner
Optimize tasks to increase efficiency and accuracy, include driving the design of automation for the business
What you bring
University Degree in Accounting/Finance, or business-related discipline AND Professional Accounting designation/MBA or working towards one (CPA- CMA, CA, CGA)
Minimum of 3 years experience in FP&A or related role, preferably in a corporate or retail environment
Ability to clearly and confidently, communicate results to technical and non-technical audiences
Ability to influence and persuade different points of view
Ability to execute multiple projects and drive key business results under tight deadlines
Strong time management and self-management skills
Ability to work independently and in an ambiguous environment
Self-starter attitude with willingness to learn and master new technologies
Strong problem solving, analytical and strategic thinking skills; able to see the \xe2\x80\x9cbig picture\xe2\x80\x9d in a complex business environment
Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a demonstrated ability to build and maintain strong relationships
Advanced MS Excel and PowerPoint skills. Experience using Hyperion Planning & HFM, ThoughtSpot and Peoplesoft accounting systems is a plus
