We are looking for a qualified
Junior Accountant
to join our Finance team, based out of our head office in
Walkerton, ON.
Under the direction of the Director of Finance Operations, the
Junior Accountant
is responsible for executing accounting functions and providing essential support to the Finance department.
Role & Responsibilities
Reviews inbox items and prioritizes, files, or escalates items as needed
Responds to client and supplier enquiries while maintaining excellent relations
Follows up with all departments on outstanding documentation
Monitors bank balances, online deposits and payments, outstanding transactions, and cash flow on a daily basis
Completes monthly remittances, account reconciliations, journal and general ledger entries and bank reconciliation as required.
Assists with month-end and year-end closing procedures
Provides support to annual budget process
Participates in general administration and reception duties as required
Knowledge & Experience
University degree or College diploma in Business Administration with a specialization in Accounting & Finance or a related field is required
Professional Accounting designation is considered an asset
A minimum of 2-4 years of experience in a similar role
Thorough understanding of business processes, strategies and methodologies
Knowledge and application of GAAP
Advanced proficiency with the following computer environments: Microsoft 365, Google Chrome
