We're seeking a driven Junior Accountant to manage core transactional financial and accounting operations across all of our Smith and Long companies

As a Junior Accountant, you will oversee a wide range of essential financial activities, including reconciliations, cash management, and supporting Accounts Payable. Your accuracy and attention to detail will directly influence the integrity of our financial data, ensuring that our operations are smooth, efficient, and aligned with our companies' financial goals.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:
Bank Reconciliations:
Lead the process of reconciling all bank accounts on a timely basis, identifying and resolving discrepancies to ensure the integrity of the general ledger.
Credit cards Reconciliation:
Take charge of reconciling company credit card statements and transactions, ensuring all expenditures are properly accounted for and recorded.
Cash Posting:
Accurately and promptly post incoming cash and electronic payments to the correct customer accounts or ledger entries.
Credit Card Processing:
Manage the processing of incoming customer credit card payments efficiently and securely.
Policy Compliance:
Diligently review employee expense reports for adherence to company policy before processing for payment.
Capital Asset - Accounting:
Support the accounting cycle for capital assets, including tracking acquisitions, disposals, and calculating depreciation.
Support Processing of Accounts Payables:
Assist the finance team with various tasks related to the Accounts Payable function, including invoice entry and vendor correspondence.
Additional Duties as Assigned:
Be flexible and willing to take on additional financial and administrative tasks as needed to ensure the smooth operation of the shared services team.
What You Bring to the Table:
Educational Foundation:
Post secondary education, giving you the strong academic foundation needed to succeed in accounting.
System Expertise:
Must have intermediate to advance Microsoft office knowledge, demonstrating proficiency in utilizing tools like Excel for data management and analysis.
Communication Skills:
Good communication skill, enabling clear and professional interaction with all internal stakeholders.
Eagerness to Grow:
Willingness to learn, demonstrating a proactive approach to mastering new responsibilities and expanding your accounting knowledge.
Salary:
$50,000 - $60,000, commensurate with the candidate's experience, qualifications, and demonstrated skill level.
