We are looking for a pro-active, self-motivated, and personable individual who will help support and maintain our company's IT. This includes providing great technical support for our employees and IT systems, helping maintain our infrastructure and security, and being actively involved in all IT projects.



This is a unique role as there will be ample opportunity to be involved in all areas of IT. Ideally you will be able to start ASAP.

Job Summary - What to Expect:



The various IT functions are broken up between 2 IT team members that report to the Director of IT. Both roles are generalist/system administrator roles with the intention that cover can be provided in the other's absence.

focus of this role is:



1.

Support and administration

.

We have +-100 users at Everything Wine. You will provide quality, timely remote support for day-to-day user tickets relating to LS Central (Microsoft Business Central), Office 365, Active Directory login and any other computer software or hardware-related issues.

At times you may have to provide quick on-site critical support for our stores across the lower mainland.

You will provide

secondary

cover and assist in the following as required:



1. Servers, clients and network infrastructure.



The maintenance and administration of domain controller servers and services. You will also co-manage Fortinet equipment (firewalls, switches and Wi-Fi AP's) as required.

2. Projects



Because of our small team size you will be expected to be part of all aspects of IT and consequently of any IT projects that are done.

3. Data/Databases/Power BI/Power Apps.



Everything Wine relies heavily on data. You will be help ensure the accuracy, health and protection of that data. As we replace our core systems you will also identify, create and maintain the majority of custom reporting (PowerBI) needed as well as any custom integration/development required that accesses and uses that data (PowerApps).

4. Backup and Security.



Information security is taken very seriously at Everything Wine. We utilize best of breed security tools which you will help configuring, monitoring, patching and reporting on.

The backup of our data and high availability of our systems is extremely important. As we convert our systems you will help for a new backup solution that fits our need and protects our data. You will make sure backups are being performed and that any restores required are handled quickly and successfully.

Qualifications



1+ years of experience in an IT administrator or generalist role (or cross role experience). Experience in all aspects of IT - Support, Servers, Databases, Networking, Security and Projects is preferred but not mandatory. Technical certifications are considered, but not required. A post-graduate qualification in Computer Science or Information Technology is preferred, but not required.

There are also a few qualities that candidates should be expected to display:

Excellent inter-personal skills and a strong customer focus. You must enjoy interacting and providing in-person support. The ability to be patient and present solutions in non-technical terms.

Great troubleshooting skills with the ability to think logically. Finding the right solutions through analytical research or by thinking creatively and outside the box.

Good written and verbal communication with an attention to detail.

The ability to work well in a team. Being able to help co-workers when needed; and working in tandem with co-workers on big projects.

Excellent organizational skills and time management skills with the ability to effectively prioritize numerous projects and service requests simultaneously.

Not afraid to take on many roles on a daily basis with a willingness to solve complicated problems and see projects through to completion.

Other information that may be useful:



This is a and you will be expected to be in the office and/or in-store for part of the week. More on this can be discussed in person.

Being in the retail business, you must be willing to occasionally work unsociable or extra hours to finish a job or meet deadlines. There is no overtime, but hours can be banked and taken as time off.

The occasional physical nature of the role may require you to lift and carry heavy equipment. The dress code tends to be casual, reflecting the nature of the work, but you are expected to maintain a reasonable standard of dress.

Travel to stores to resolve issues is occasionally needed and may be required at short notice. You must have a car and drivers license (travel expenses reimbursed)

You will be part of a small 2-person IT team. You should be enthusiastic with a passion to be involved in all aspects of IT and grow within.

The Salary Range for this position is $50,000 to $60,000/year
