Position and Responsibilities

Working with the McArthur River team, you will be responsible for providing mine engineering knowledge and expertise. Core responsibilities include underground ventilation; with other assigned duties relating to production stope design, planning and scheduling, ground control, backfill, surveying and other activities to support production in a geo-technically challenging environment.


With safety as your core value, you will focus on high quality results and provide monitoring and clear direction/designs to ensure that ventilation targets are met, and production mining targets are achieved.
Education and Qualifications Requirements of the position:
  • Bachelor\xe2\x80\x99s degree in mine (or related) engineering
  • Eligible for registration with the Association of Professional Engineers and Geoscientists of Saskatchewan (APEGS)
  • Strong communication, planning and organizational skills
  • Work a rotational schedule and commute to site by aircraft
Assets:
  • Previous experience in an underground mining environment
  • Mine ventilation experience
  • Underground mine design and production blast hole stope design experience

The McArthur River operation is located in northern Saskatchewan and operates on a two week on/two week off rotational schedule. Employees commute to the site by aircraft from designated locations in Saskatchewan. The physical and psychological safety of our employee\xe2\x80\x99s is a top priority at Cameco.
