Job Description

We are offering a hire on bonus of $2500 (payable after 3 months) to the qualified candidate.

General Statement of Duties:



The Journeyperson Plumber/Gasfitter is responsible for performing skilled plumbing, heating and gasfitting work in residential, commercial and light industrial settings. This includes the installation, maintenance, inspection, troubleshooting and repair of plumbing, hydronic heating and natural gas systems

Supervision Received:



Reports directly to the Service Manager Works independently or as part of a service crew depending on project requirements

Supervision Exercised:



Provides mentorship, guidance and on-the-job training to Apprentices and Labourers as required

Key Focus Areas:



Perform installation, maintenance, and repair of plumbing, hydronic heating, and gas systems Diagnose and repair leaks, blockages, and system failures Install and service water heaters, boilers, fixtures, pumps, and control systems Conduct gas line installations, pressure tests and appliance hookups in accordance with the Alberta Gas Code Ensure all work meets applicable codes, permits and safety standards Accurately complete work orders, material lists, and service documentation Communicate effectively with dispatch, customers and team members regarding job progress and issues Maintain company tools, vehicles and equipment in good working condition Participate in safety meetings and uphold company safety policies Provide outstanding customer service on every job site

Summary of Duties:



Uphold and promote the Mission, Vision and Core Values of the organization Read and interpret blueprints, drawings and technical specifications Install and test piping systems, fittings valves and controls for water, gas and drainage Troubleshoot system malfunctions and perform corrective repairs Assist with estimating labour and material costs for service and small projects Complete service reports, inspection forms and required documentation accurately and on time Respond to after-hours emergency calls when required Work collaboratively with other trades, contractors and office staff to ensure project success Maintain up-to-date knowledge of plumbing and gasfitting technology, safety procedures and codes Represent the company professional on all customer sites

Education and Experience:



Valid Driver's License with a clean abstract -

required

Journeyperson certification in Plumbing and Gasfitting B -

required

Minimum three (3) years of journeyperson-level experience

preferred

Strong knowledge of plumbing and heating systems, installation standards and service procedures Experience in residential and commercial service and installation environments

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:



Proven ability to install, service and troubleshoot plumbing, heating and gas systems Strong understanding of hydronic heating, backflow prevention and system design Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings Excellent problem solving and time management skills Commitment to safety, quality workmanship and customer satisfaction Ability to train and mentor apprentices effectively Strong communication and interpersonal skills Physically capable of lifting up to 50 lbs and working in confined spaces or varying conditions Familiarity with digital work order systems and service software (

The Journeyperson Plumber/Gasfitter must demonstrate high technical competency, professionalism, and accountability. The role requires self-motivation, attention to detail and the ability to work safely and independently while upholding company and regulatory standards.

Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:



Standing, walking, climbing and lifting up to 50 lbs regularly Working in varying indoor and outdoor conditions, including confined spaces and heights Required to participate in an on-call rotation for after-hours service

Hours/On-call Expectations



This is a full-time hourly position. Standard hours are Monday - Friday, 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, with occasional overtime, evening or weekends based on operational need. Participation in the on-call rotation
