Job Overview

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Journeyperson Electrician to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in both industrial and commercial electrical work, with the ability to handle a variety of tasks on construction sites. This role requires proficiency in reading blueprints and schematics, as well as a solid understanding of the National Electrical Code (NEC). The Journeyperson Electrician will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing electrical systems while ensuring compliance with safety standards.

Duties

Install, maintain, and repair electrical systems and equipment in commercial and industrial settings. Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings to determine layout and installation procedures. Utilize hand tools, power tools, and specialized equipment such as ohmmeters to perform electrical work. Troubleshoot electrical issues, including high voltage and low voltage systems, ensuring timely resolution. Collaborate with other tradespeople on construction sites to complete renovation projects efficiently. Ensure all work complies with NEC regulations and safety standards. Conduct routine inspections of electrical systems to identify potential hazards or maintenance needs. Document all work performed and maintain accurate records of repairs and installations.

Skills

Proficient in programmable logic controllers (PLC) for automation tasks. Extensive experience as an industrial electrician with knowledge of commercial settings preferred. Familiarity with hand tools, power tools, and their safe operation. Strong understanding of electrical systems including high voltage and low voltage applications. Ability to read blueprints and schematics accurately for effective installation and troubleshooting. Experience in construction site environments with a focus on safety protocols. Knowledge of renovation practices related to electrical installations. Maintenance Person experience is a plus, showcasing versatility in various repair tasks. Strong problem-solving skills with attention to detail in all aspects of electrical work.
