Job Overview

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Journeyperson Electrician to join our team. This role involves installing, maintaining, and repairing electrical systems across various industrial and commercial settings. The ideal candidate will possess a strong foundation in electrical principles, including blueprint reading, schematics interpretation, and low voltage systems. This position offers an opportunity to work on diverse projects, from renovation to new construction, utilizing a wide range of hand and power tools. The Journeyperson Electrician will ensure all work complies with safety standards and industry regulations, contributing to the successful completion of projects on time and within scope.

Duties

Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical diagrams to plan electrical installations and repairs. Install, troubleshoot, and repair electrical wiring, circuits, and systems in industrial or commercial environments. Utilize hand tools, power tools, and specialized equipment to perform electrical tasks efficiently and safely. Work on renovation projects, including updating existing electrical systems or installing new wiring in existing structures. Program and troubleshoot programmable logic controllers (PLCs) as required for automation systems. Conduct inspections of electrical components for safety and compliance with codes. Collaborate with other tradespeople such as electricians, plumbers, or construction workers during project execution. Maintain detailed records of work performed and materials used for each project phase. Follow all safety protocols related to low voltage systems, high voltage installations, and general electrical work.

Qualifications

Valid Journeyperson Electrician license or certification. Strong knowledge of blueprint reading, schematics, and electrical diagrams. Hands-on experience with hand tools, power tools, and electrical testing equipment. High-end residential experience is a asset Ability to interpret schematics for complex electrical systems. Experience working with construction teams on large-scale projects. Maintenance Person experience is a plus for versatile troubleshooting skills. Excellent problem-solving skills with attention to detail. Ability to work independently or as part of a team in fast-paced environments while adhering to safety standards.
