Foremost has an immediate opening for a full-time Journeyman Pipefitter located at our facility in Lloydminster, Alberta. The Pipefitter position has the responsibility of assembling piping packages, hydro testing various pieces of equipment, fabricating and repairing piping systems.
Key Responsibilities:
Layout, read and design blueprints
Study blueprints, drawings, and specifications to determine the type of pipe and tools to use and lay out the sequence of tasks (ex. Type and size of pipe, related equipment such as supports, hangers, and hydraulic cylinders according to specifications)
Measure, cut, thread, groove, bend, solder, assemble, and install metal, plastic and fiberglass pipes, valves and fittings
Join pipe sections and related equipment and secure in position
Use testing equipment to check systems for leaks
Layout, assemble, install, and maintain pipe supports and related hydraulic and pneumatic equipment
Assemble and install a variety of metal and non-metal pipes, tubes, and fittings including iron, steel, copper and plastic
Connect pipes using threaded, flange connections, caulked, soldered, brazed fused, and cemented joints and hand tools
Secure pipes to structure using brackets, clamps, and hangers while using hand and power tools
Occasional duties include dressing tanks, hydro testing vessels, installing vessel internals, and various other duties around shop
Completing Quality Control Documents, Inspection Test Plans (ITP).
Qualifications:
Journeyman or Apprentice Pipefitter
Fabrication and Installation experience a must
Strong background with hydrostatic and pneumatic testing
Strong mechanical aptitude preferred
Good understanding of OTSG's, Pressure Vessels, Pressure Piping and Storage Tanks
Experience with threaded/welded pipe and fittings
Must take direction well
Work with minimal supervision, demonstrated leadership qualities, and work well in a team environment.
