We are seeking a skilled Red Seal Journeyman Pipefitter to join our dynamic team! The ideal candidate will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, and repair of piping systems mainly in the chemical sector. Some, project dependent, travel out of town/province will be required. The Pipefitter will work with a variety of materials and tools to ensure that systems are functioning efficiently and safely.
A typical day at Primo would look like:
- Check in at shop (or worksite if they know where to be)
- Take direction from supervisor (Kristian or Al) as to what scope is to be completed
- Fill out all required safety paperwork (Primo) and all required start work documents (Client side) prior to beginning any work on site.
- Worker would walk down any scope of work requiring isolation and ensure the piping/equipment is locked out prior to work beginning. (Some clients isolation methods are not
- Safely complete task, in a timely manner and clean up site after each scope. "Should look better than when we arrived"

Prior to leaving site,
let client/representative know when work is complete and also walk scope of work with client/representative to ensure their satisfaction.
- Sign off on all client safety documents (permits, hot work, etc.) and sign off on all Primo safety paperwork.
- Once finished, let supervisor know scope has been completed (Kristian or Al) and help create turnover documents for project completion.
- Check if there is another scope of work to complete or what their next task for the day will be. Could be several different things;
o Next project
o Pick up materials
o Clean up shop
o Clean truck front to back
o Organize tools and left over materials
o Organize project materials (receiving shelf)
o Check in and show face on site(s)
- Enter time daily at end of shift
Responsibilities
Read, interpret, redline, and create blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings to determine the layout of piping systems.
Fabricate, assemble, and install piping systems using hand tools and power tools.
Install pipes and fittings as necessary to ensure secure connections with a variety of materials and connection methods i.e. CS, SS, CPVC, PVC, FRP, etc.
Maintain existing piping systems by performing routine inspections and repairs.
Troubleshoot issues within piping systems and recommend appropriate solutions.
Ensure compliance with safety regulations and industry standards during all work activities.
Collaborate with HVAC/Plumbing technicians to install and maintain heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems as needed.
Requirements
Proven experience as a Pipefitter or in a similar role within the construction or manufacturing industry.
Proficiency in installation and assembly techniques and the ability to read schematics accurately.
Strong knowledge of plumbing principles and HVAC systems is preferred.
Familiarity with hand tools, power tools, and safety equipment relevant to pipefitting tasks.
Ability to perform physical tasks such as lifting heavy materials and standing for extended periods.
Excellent problem-solving skills with attention to detail in all aspects of work.
Basic math skills for accurate measurements and calculations related to projects.
Computer proficiency and supervisory experience are assets
