V Construction is Canada's premier utility contractor, as well as head of the and part of the Group, the largest electrical power contractor in North America. Valard has full-service capabilities for transmission, distribution, substations, foundations, telecommunications, and renewable energy.
Our Fleet Department is seeking full time Heavy Duty Mechanic(s) to join our team in our shop in Leduc, AB.
Seeking candidates local to the area. No LOA provided.
The position will be 8 hour shifts, Monday - Friday. With a possibility of overtime.
Travel may be required.
Requirements
- Journeyman/ Apprentice Heavy Duty Mechanic; must be able to provide proof of certification
- 5+ years experience working on Kenworth, Freightliner, Peterbilt, Sterling, Western Star and International Highway Tractors
- Posses a valid CVIP License
- Requires extensive knowledge of DPF and DEF after treatment systems and ABS brake systems
- Engine certification is an asset along with electrical, engine and drive line troubleshooting skills
- Proficient in the use of diagnostic software for engines and ABS systems
- Help improve and maintain shop repair, efficiency, costs and quality of workmanship
- Preform quality control checks during and after each job
- Help enforce and maintain Safe Work Practices
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
