Job Description

John Howard Society Fundy Region Inc. is in search of qualified individuals to work various shifts through the week and weekend.



A Residential Care Worker provides a homelike environment which is therapeutic and safe. Staff are responsible for providing intensive support and supervision of Adults with complex social, emotional and behavioral needs.

Candidates must have:



education in the human service field (social service worker, personal support worker, psychology, human service practitioner, etc.)

experience working with people diagnosed with mental illness

the ability to follow policies, procedures and routines as part of a cohesive team; the ability to foster care plan goals - looking for opportunities to teach and coach; the ability to communicate clearly and professionally ; proficiency in oral and written communication skills ; the ability to respond effectively to challenging behaviors and mental health issues; the ability to respond to crisis and de-escalate emotions; the ability to perform and collaborate with a staffing team on general housekeeping and meal preparation tasks which contributes to a healthy home; a recent criminal record check, a social development verification check as well as two professional references.

Pay: $22.51-$23.21 per hour
