Job Summary
The Prosper East Program is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Job Coach to join our team. The ideal candidate will support individuals in developing the skills necessary for employment success. The Job Coach will work closely with clients to assess their abilities, provide guidance on job performance, and facilitate workplace integration. This role requires strong communication, problem-solving skills, and a passion for helping others achieve their professional goals.
This positions is based both in Charlottetown and Montague, the Job Coach will work aprox 24 hours a week ( 3 days) in Charlottetown and 16 hours a week (2 days) in Montague with a few exceptions.
Responsibilities
include but are not limited to:
Assess client skills, strengths, and career goals to create tailored return to work action plans.
Assist clients with job applications, resume writing, and interview preparation.
Provide transportation and accompany clients to job interviews.
Work with employers to ensure a supportive and inclusive work environment.
Offer guidance to help clients meet workplace expectations.
Monitor progress and provide constructive feedback to enhance job performance.
Provide support and representation for clients throughout the job search process
Maintain accurate records and documentation of client progress and job placements using OCSM database
Responsible for consistently meeting project deadlines and ensuring timely completion of tasks.
Stay updated on employment trends and resources to best support clients.
Establish and maintain relationships with local employers to create job opportunities for our clients.
Create a supportive atmosphere that encourages personal growth and teamwork.
Participates in weekly team meetings with other job coaches, co-ordinators, and management as needed.
All other duties as required.
Qualifications
Education-Post Secondary Diploma or previous experience in job coaching, career counseling ,or a related field will be seen as an asset.
Strong Interpersonal and communication skills.
Knowlege of workplace accommodations and employment standards is an advantage.
Ability to motivate and inspire individuals from diverse backgrounds.
Patience, adaptability, and problem-solving skills.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and case management software is an asset.
Strong organizational skills with attention to detail.
A collaborative mindset that fosters teamwork and cooperation.
Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
Demonstrate a strong commitment to meeting project deadlines
As travel between Island communities (Kings and Queens County) is essential to this position, a valid drivers license and regular access to a reliable vehicle is required.
