Calling all Developmental Service Workers, Social Service Workers, and Personal Support Workers!
SUMMARY
The Job Coach is responsible for facilitating the process of connecting individuals with developmental disabilities to employment and community opportunities and providing the necessary support and training to help them succeed in those areas.
DESCRIPTION OF CORE RESPONSIBILITIES:
Assessment & Planning
Assess individuals' skills, interests, goals, and support needs to determine suitability for volunteer or employment opportunities.
Develop and implement individualized action plans to build skills, overcome barriers, and support progress toward community participation and employment.
Collaborate with families, agencies, and stakeholders to ensure coordinated service delivery.
Facilitation & Training
Facilitate and support volunteer and employment opportunities that promote inclusion and skill development.
Provide onsite coaching, training, and mentoring to ensure individuals are actively engaged and supported.
Deliver workshops, orientation sessions, and on-the-job training to build employability and volunteer-readiness skills.
Develop and implement teaching techniques and site-specific training strategies.
Support individuals in developing independence and problem-solving strategies in community roles.
Community Engagement & Representation
Build and maintain strong relationships with community organizations, employers, and volunteer coordinators.
Canvass and promote volunteer and employment opportunities with local organizations.
Represent the program through presentations, information packages, and networking opportunities.
Identify and foster natural supports at worksites and volunteer placements to maximize inclusion.
Transition & Skill Development
Support individuals in developing transferable employment skills through their volunteer experiences.
Identify when individuals are ready to transition from volunteer roles to paid employment and provide guidance in accessing employment pathways.
Assist with resume development, interview preparation, job applications, and skills testing when relevant.
Monitoring & Advocacy
Maintain regular follow-up with participants, employers, volunteer sites, and community partners to monitor progress and resolve challenges.
Advocate for individuals' inclusion, accessibility, and rights within volunteer and employment environments.
Prepare required documentation, reports, and evaluations to support program accountability.
General Responsibilities
Work flexible shifts (including evenings, weekends, and holidays) to meet individual and program needs.
Ensure adherence to all CLC health, safety, and organizational policies.
Perform other duties as assigned to support program and organizational goals.

FORMAL EDUCATION, TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
Completed post-secondary education (specifically diploma or degree) in a field related to developmental or human services, employment services, and/or social work.
Must have a valid driver's license, an acceptable driver's abstract and regular access to a reliable vehicle.
Previous experience with establishing networks, community contacts and relationship development with the community is a benefit.
Strong working knowledge of MS Office (including Excel) and Sharevision.
Must be able to work a variety of shifts, including nights and weekends, to support participants at placement locations.
Must be able to perform the essential duties of the position.
Must have a good general overall work record with Community Living Cambridge.
