THE OPPORTUNITY - Job Coach (Youth Program) - Term Position



Reporting to the Employment Services Team Leader (Youth), this position provides direct support to youth with disabilities or other barriers to employment. Work hours vary based on the needs of the area. The role involves working in diverse environments and locations. A valid driver's license, a clean driver's abstract, and appropriate insurance for transporting individuals for work purposes are required.

This is a one-year (12-month) maternity leave coverage position, with the possibility of extension.

WHAT YOU WILL DO



Assess their readiness for work experience and identify life skills that need development. The Job Coach assists youth with barriers to employment to obtain and maintain work experience opportunities. Identify work experience goals and create an action plan to guide preparation. Provide advice and support regarding hosting, orientation, and training for youth with barriers to employment while maintaining confidentiality for the individual. Review the individual's progress and determine any necessary adjustments to the level or type of support provided. Work with community or work site hosts to customize opportunities for individuals, including identifying required accommodations.
