Woodland Constructors is currently recruiting JOURNEYPERSON and APPRENTICE CARPENTERS to join our team at our Syncrude MLX project Shift : 14 days on 7 days off LOA: $3000/month Travel Allowance: $250/shift rotation Duration Till 2024 JM rate: $42.13 Excellent opportunity for tradesmen who take pride in their work and are looking to join a great team of like minded carpenters and strong supervision building a Heavy Haul Bridge at Syncrude Mildred Lake Expansion. Work scope includes: Concrete Columns, Piers, and Abutments. Formwork carpenters required for Bridge Deck, Endwalls, Concrete Diaphragms, Concrete Barriers, Transition Barriers and Grout forms. Installing Aluma Gang forms, Hi-Lite Bridge overhang brackets, C-49 work platforms, bridge deck formwork and overhang soffits AS A JOURNEYPERSON and APPRENTICE CARPENTER, YOU WILL:

• Build forms for concrete
• Cut, shape and join
• Look for and fix deficiencies
• Checks accuracy of works and makes adjustments as required
• Studies blueprints for work planning
• Constructs and forms chutes for pouring concrete
• Erects scaffolding and ladders for assembling structures above ground level
• Acts as a work leader and mentors to apprentice carpenters
• Informs immediate supervisor of abnormalities or defects and/or takes appropriate measures

CERTIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:

• Common Safety Orientation (CSO)
• CSTS 2020
• WHMIS 2015
• ESC OSSA Fall Pro (in-class only)
• Experience with ESC AWP / EWP -an asset
• Pre- Employment A/D testing is required

Experience:

• concrete formwork carpentry (preferred)
• bridge experience (preferred)
• on major industrial sites/contractors across western Canada (preferred)

Licence/Certification:

• Journeyperson carpenter certificate (preferred)
• CSO (Common Safety Orientation) (preferred)
• ESC OSSA Fall Protection (preferred)
• CSTS 2020/WHMIS 2015 (preferred)
• Driving Licence (preferred)
