LaPrairie Works Inc. is a diversified and growing civil maintenance and construction contractor with over 37 years of operating experience across Western Canada. Our core businesses include Mobile Crane & Rigging, Highway Infrastructure Maintenance and Construction, On / Off Highway Bulk Commodity Hauling, Specialized Heavy Hauling, Oilfield Services, Mine Contracting, Proppant Supply and Logistics, and General On-Site Services.
We are looking to expand our operations areas and are preparing a response to an RFP announced by Parsons Corporation for the Giant Mine Reclamation Project. We are looking for qualified professionals to join our Team should we be successful in procuring the contract for this project.
Job Summary Reporting to the Site Supervisor, the Janitor will perform general cleaning of all site buildings, keeping them maintained and in good condition. This will include vacuuming, mopping and sanitizing facility areas and restrooms, taking out the trash and recycling, and washing and cleaning windows and mirrors. The Janitor will work with other site personnel to sort operational wastes into designated waste streams before depositing them in their respective waste containers in the work area. They will be responsible for reporting leakage, missing covers, or misuse of material receptacles to their supervisor. Other duties may be assigned as needed.
Duties & Responsibilities Include (but are not limited to):
  • Adhere to all Client and LaPrairie SOP\xe2\x80\x99s, policies and procedures, including health, safety and environment (HSE) polices.
  • Complete general cleaning of site buildings to keep them maintained and in good condition.
  • Vacuum, sweep, and mop floors.
  • Clean and stock restrooms.
  • Ensure doors are locked after hours.
  • Clean up spills with appropriate equipment.
  • Perform minor repairs.
  • Notify supervisors / managers of major repairs.
  • Collect and dispose of trash and recycling.
  • Complete tasks in a timely manner with minimal supervision.
  • Keep cleaning supplies in stock.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
  • Ability to manage time efficiently.
  • Ability to lift at least 25 pounds.
  • Handle basic maintenance, building repairs, cleaning, and other janitorial work.
  • Able to work safely with a variety of cleaning supplies.
  • Able to use basic cleaning equipment.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
