Your main responsibilities are:

• Perform routine maintenance within the laboratory (e.g. cleaning bathrooms, cleaning kitchen, mopping and sweeping floors)
• Ensure any safety related maintenance items are addressed promptly
• Performs outside building and grounds maintenance (e.g. snow removal, spring clean-up, windows)
• Provide support to the Facilities Supervisor as required
• Act as a backup point of contact for the landlord and contractors who have responsibility for maintenance of laboratory and building equipment (e.g. HVAC, make-up air unit, plumbing, electrical)

You are the ideal candidate if:

• High school diploma required; post-secondary education in a related field preferred
• 1 year of general maintenance or equivalent experience preferred
• Eager to learn and has the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment, while maintaining attention to detail
• Positive attitude and great multitasking abilities
• Strong computer skills
• Lift permit is a plus

Working Conditions:

• High level of work production in fast paced environment
• Hands on building maintenance work, climbing, bending , lifting
• The job requires flexible working hours, and some extended hours as required
• Some out of town travel, as required (a possibility, but rare)
• Ability to lift/carry up to 50 lbs unassisted
• May involve long periods of standing
• Hazardous materials are handled using established safety procedures and appropriate equipment
