As a Senior System Administrator for a leading Health Insurance client -

Your Job Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Support multiple applications with varying technical architecture components.
  • Responsible for supporting the design and implementation of structural and functional aspects of a system
  • Creation of architecture diagrams for existing applications and interfaces
  • Creation of operational support models for existing applications
  • Provide leadership and support in all facets of design quality including functionality, usability, reliability, performance, supportability.
  • Support the integration of products, tools and system activities and provide technical advice on project assignments
  • Participation in project meetings with technical leaders to identify and scope opportunities and identify risks and constraints
  • Consulting and collaborating with senior project members in the realization and fulfilment of requirements
  • Advise, persuade &/or negotiate on problems or situations of a simple to moderately complex nature
  • Develop and conduct proof of concepts, supervise and guide development team members
  • Investigate and troubleshoot critical production support issues
  • Propose improvements and implement any possible automation
Your Required Level of Education:
  • Technical Diploma in IT with Equivalent Experience or BSc Computer Science
  • 10+ years of overall experience
  • 3+ years of experience as architect
Your Technical skills:
  • Strong technical skills with knowledge of multiple architecture domains.
  • Experienced in application development and integration techniques involving databases , web services and automation
  • Experienced authoring and reviewing technical and abstract architectures and contributing to solution and technical designs to achieve desired outcomes
  • Adept at performing current state assessments, articulating findings, drawing conclusions, and recommending solutions

Must have authorization to work in Canada. Position is in Halifax, NS. One can be based anywhere in Atlantic Canada.
