How will you contribute?

The Lead Hand of Maintenance services is responsible for managing work assignments, scheduling team members, planning logistics and for verifying the overall quality of the services provided by the Maintenance team. The incumbent will work with his/her supervisor to establish priorities and the general work plan for the employees under their supervision. You will also be the subject matter expert responsible for educating staff on best practices and enforcing accountability, quality standards and safety rules.

Open to

Employees of the Senate of Canada, House of Common or the Library of Parliament to staff one (1) temporary (determinate) full-time position with possibility of extension in the Property and Services Directorate.

Prerequisites

  • Successful completion of secondary education or an acceptable combination of education, training and relevant experience;
  • Experience in a role focused on maintenance;
  • Experience coordinating, prioritizing and assigning tasks and duties;
  • Experience using MS Outlook and MS Word;
  • Expert knowledge of industry standards, techniques, practices and processes involved in the provision of maintenance services;
  • Strong leaderships skills with the ability to communicate effectively in both official languages (English and French); and
  • Ability to coordinate teamwork and adjust schedules according to priorities and unforeseen situations.
