Your Opportunity:

Provide guidance when asked or needed with proper procedures. Complete random safety audits on staff when they are completing work orders or projects. (FLRA\'s or proper PPE). Orientate all new staff with FM&E and AHS policies/procedures as per the new employee checklist. Liaison/Communicate with IP&C and the P2 to coordinate maintenance activities. Mentoring all Maintenance Workers on helping improve their skill sets. Eg. Painting, installing white rock and putting up hoarding. Responsible for assuring that staff are working safe and having the proper paperwork completed for the specific job. Examples include: ICRA, FLRA, Hot work permit, Service Isolation. Be active daily in e-facilities reviewing the amount of work orders each group and individuals have in their queue. Move work orders to individuals that may have less work orders to help other area\'s out. Coordinate to have staff cover for any missing team members that may be absent. Keep all FM&E projects up to date on the shared drive so it\'s easier for others to find information when they need it. You will be the first line of contact with the FM&E vendors, contractors, and project managers to review and resolve issues. Review projects and renovation plans. Receive and prepare quotes. Complete drawings to assist staff with understand what work is being done or the IP&C requirements for each task. Ensure new contractors are provided with the contractor orientation package and submit for their contractor card. Request extensions to existing contractor cards that have expired.

Description:

As a Lead Hand, you will be responsible for providing functional supervision to a moderately sized group of similar journeyperson trade staff. In addition to functional supervision, you will perform a wide variety of journeyperson level trade duties associated with maintaining, renovating, repairing and construction in accordance with AHS standards and practices. You will assign work of journeyperson and supervise staff and perform ongoing maintenance work in an area of assigned trade or related responsibility. In addition, you will provide health and safety training and orientation and ensure compliance.

Required Qualifications:
