Responsible for managing incidents reported to the Service Desk. Performs first and second level support, which include, investigating and diagnosing issues, recording incidents, restoring service when possible and assigning incidents to the second level support teams as required. Serves an integral part of the support team in the integration of solutions, leveraging technology and maintaining high end user service levels.

Duties and responsibilities

  • Desktop support Technician
  • Install and configure hardware and software.
  • Respond to tickets in accordance with SLA guidelines. (MS Office 365, SAP Client, Adobe Cloud, VPN Clients, Oracle Client and local application etc.)
  • Record, track, and document the help desk request problem solving process including actions taken through to the final resolution
  • Respond in timely manner to requests and issues.
  • Repair and replace equipment as needed.
  • Provide onsite and remote support to end users
  • Assist in AV setups as needed for meetings.
  • Set up new workstations for users (deploying equipment, checking over account setups).
  • Deployment of new Laptops and Desktops (Transfer of user profiles and configure users profiles).
  • Support use of Windows and Mac OS devices.
  • Ability to work in Active Directory.
  • Setup VMware Thin Clients for end users.
  • Resolve Tier 1 and 2 desk side support tickets.
  • Other IT duties as assigned by Manager.
Qualifications
  • Technology Technical diploma 3 to 5 years of related experience or CEGEP diploma in computer science or equivalent with a minimum of 3 to 5 years related experience.
  • Proficient in Windows and Macintosh operating systems.
  • Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills.
  • Extensive knowledge in configuring, installing and deployment of desktop equipment and peripherals. Experience in a Service Desk environment providing hardware and software support is a must
  • Strong ability to learn new technologies
  • Adaptive to change and be able to manage stress within a team environment.
  • Must be fluently bilingual
  • Experience using Service Desk ticket tracking system
  • Ability to function effectively in a dynamic, fast paced, high call volume environment
  • Must be able to work independently, as well as within a team.
  • Must be adaptable to a rapidly changing technical environment.
  • Must have procurement skills related to the purchasing of computer equipment.
Working Conditions

Might be asked to work after hours and weekends

Physical requirements

Will need to pickup computer equipment such as laptops, desktops, PCs and other computer peripheral.
