Saint Laurent Consulting is seeking a skilled and proactive Onsite IT Support Technician to join our client's technical operations team in Winnipeg. This role is ideal for an individual with a strong background in IT infrastructure, network setup, and physical hardware installation. You will be responsible for ensuring seamless setup and support of the company's internal systems, including workstations, network cabling, and IT environment readiness for both new and existing staff.
The ideal candidate will be tech-savvy, highly organized, and able to manage physical IT components with minimal supervision. This role plays a vital part in supporting a fast-paced business environment and maintaining operational efficiency.
Key Responsibilities:
Perform installation, configuration, and troubleshooting of IT equipment including laptops, desktops, routers, switches, and printers
Execute structured cabling tasks, including pulling, terminating, and testing Ethernet and fiber optic cables
Manage network hardware setup and troubleshooting (TCP/IP, DHCP, DNS, VPNs)
Support new employee onboarding with workstation setup, software installation, and hardware configuration
Maintain and monitor office network performance and proactively resolve connectivity issues
Ensure proper labeling, organization, and documentation of all hardware and cabling infrastructure
Coordinate with remote IT support teams and escalate issues as needed
Provide hands-on support for office moves, network expansions, and other infrastructure changes
Maintain an inventory of IT equipment and support the procurement of tools and devices
Required Qualifications:
5+ years of experience in IT support, systems administration, or network infrastructure roles
Proficiency with network hardware (routers, switches, access points) and protocols (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP)
Strong understanding of structured cabling systems, cable management, and physical network layouts
Hands-on experience with configuring and troubleshooting Windows and/or macOS devices
Ability to diagnose and resolve hardware, software, and connectivity issues on-site
Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail when handling sensitive equipment
Strong communication and interpersonal skills; comfortable interacting with non-technical users
Must be authorized to work in Canada and available to work on-site full time
Preferred Qualifications:
Industry certifications such as CompTIA A+, Network+, or Cisco CCNA
Experience working in dynamic or startup environments
Familiarity with remote monitoring tools and ticketing systems (e.g., Jira, ServiceNow)
Additional Details:
This is a fully onsite position; remote work is not permitted
May require occasional lifting of equipment (up to 50 lbs) and physical setup across the office
Travel not required, unless noted by the client in specific cases

Pay: $40,000.00-$60,000.00 per year
