IT Support Technician (Tofino, BC)
Cermaq Canada is looking for an IT Support Technician to support new and existing IT initiatives while providing great customer service to employees. You would report to the IT Manager and your primary responsibilities will be to support desktop users, offices, remote farm sites and facilities, while maintaining communications technology and access to IT services. The duties covered by the role will include a mix of remote support from offices, field service work and deskside support.

Primary Job Duties:

  • Providing IT support to business users with respect to the use of company hardware, applications and IT services via phone, email, remote login and/or on-site as needed
  • Investigate and troubleshoot incidents and issues, identifying the root cause and resolving within defined service level agreements
  • Document recurring incidents and contributing to the Problem Management process
  • Fulfilling business requests from the agreed catalogue of services in a timely fashion while maintaining customer satisfaction
  • Carry out configuration of end user hardware and applications in line with defined procedures and policies
  • Carry out installation and upgrades of wireless communication technologies at remote sites
  • Carry out the install of equipment and supporting structures with the use of tools in a safe and effective manor
  • Document supported systems, applications and processes in line with set standards
  • Review and carry out access control requests and changes as part of the onboarding and offboarding processes
  • Work proactively with internal and 3rd party resolver groups to support the wider infrastructure and services delivered to Cermaq
  • Work effectively and efficiently capturing detail of all work through the ticketing system and knowledge portal
  • Use analytical skills, attention to detail and ability to quickly find a workable solution under pressure
  • Offer new solutions to business problems through more effective use of technology
  • Work as part of the wider IT Services team achieving departmental and business goals
Application Requirements:
  • At least 2+ years of relevant IT experience
  • Experience supporting Microsoft 365 Services
  • Experience supporting and deploying Windows 10 Professional & Enterprise
  • Experience supporting and deploying mobile handheld devices (iOS)
  • Must be comfortable boating in coastal waters, working in the elements and with potential for working at heights or in confined spaces
  • Strong English communication (written & verbal)
  • Must have reliable transportation and a minimum class 5 BC Driver's License
  • A broadband Internet connection at home

This permanent full-time position is based out of our Tofino office and works Monday to Friday 8:00am to 5:00pm with some flexibility required for travel and events. Company benefits are available immediately during Covid-19 restrictions.
