It Support Assistant

Job Description



Full-time position, Monday to Friday, 8:30pm to 5pm.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Stay on top of IT inventory in warehouse
  • Receive and triage hardware returns from stores
  • Co-ordinate E-Waste pickups and disposals
  • Work on Help Desk tickets for Pickering Campus and occasional remote Long & McQuade stores
  • Perform simple computer hardware repairs
  • Assist staff with software updates and installs
  • Contribute ideas on departmental strategies
  • Update and create support documents for staff's use
  • On occassion visit Long & McQuade and remote Yorkville locations as needed
  • Assist the IT staff on site as-needed

ASSETS:

  • Interest or experience with Windows/Linux computer hardware
  • Knowledge of Yorkville or Long & McQuade systems (PuTTY, MobaXterm, DBL, Avaya, SmartTerm)
  • Experience submitting tickets through IT Help Desk
  • Experience of working on IT issues independently at work (however small)
  • Working at Heights or other industrial licenses
  • Drivers License
