Project Manager


General Responsibilities:


  • Act as primary contact for client and Insight team members across multiple projects, or programs as assigned.
  • Drive the development and execution of project plan by working with project team to define, sequence, and estimate duration of activities and determine schedules to meet project objectives.
  • Ensure consistency and adherence to Insight’s standards, processes, and policies for all projects or programs – Manage all aspects of the project execution including chartering, scope definition, requirements gathering, project planning, change control, risk management and reporting.
  • Facilitate and manage resource planning, cost estimation, budget development, and cost control – Manage the identification, resolution and escalation of project risks and issues.
  • Track project budget and resource utilization against plan.
  • Plan and executes project communications, ensuring timely and accurate distribution of information, documentation, and issue resolution to all appropriate team members.
  • Manage change requests as required on all projects.


Specific Responsibilities:


  • Serve as the primary point of contact on all project issues, needs, and concerns.
  • Provide team leadership and guidance.
  • Facilitate kickoff meetings to review scope and project expectations, discuss IT infrastructure design, assess client readiness (hardware, software, infrastructure pre-requisites, etc.), discover any possible problems/risks, formulate an appropriate work breakdown structure for primary project tasks, and create project timeline/schedule (including potential downtimes and maintenance windows).
  • In conjunction with client, measure and communicate weekly progress against mutually agreed-upon milestones.
  • Maintain a project log proactively to identify and communicate key decisions made, action items to be completed, risks/issues that may impact scope and schedule; and mitigate and/or escalate any critical risks or issues under Insight's control, as needed.
  • Manage client expectations and satisfaction throughout the life of the project.
  • Schedule and coordinate the necessary resources to support the project.
  • Schedule and conduct project team update/status meetings.
  • Prepare written status reports for client at mutually agreed-upon intervals.
  • Monitor, manage, and communicate changes to the project's scope, budget, schedule, and resources; complete Change Request (CR) documentation as required; and obtain signed CR’s for mutually agreed upon changes.
  • Provide client with formal closeout document.
  • Facilitate closeout meeting and lessons learned, as needed.


Requirements:


  • Certificate or diploma in related field or equivalent experience with coordinating projects involving computing systems.
  • 3-5 years of relevant experience involving IT solution delivery.
  • PMP, ACP, CAPM, or PgMP certification is considered an asset.
  • Prior experience working with the full project life cycle and standardized methodologies is an asset.
  • Experience with a wide variety of IT solutions, services, and technologies, e.g., cloud, digital innovations collaboration, and/or network and/or managed services.
  • Demonstrated skills and knowledge in scheduling, budgeting, planning, problem solving, and resource management is an asset.
  • Demonstrated process and change management experience.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Excellent problem-solving and critical thinking skills.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage internal and external customers to gather comprehensive requirements and to facilitate consensus for minor issues.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills - ability to clearly and effectively interpret and present information to mid-level management.
  • Mature, responsible, flexible, with strong organization and planning skills.
  • Ability to work independently i.e., performs tasks and duties with limited supervision.
  • Demonstrated ability to influence project resources to achieve desired outcomes.
