Overview



We are looking for an IT Manager to be responsible and accountable for the smooth running of our computer systems. You will perform the implementation and maintenance of our multi-company computing needs. The successful candidate will have proven skills and a detailed knowledge of industry's best practice processes.

Responsibilities



Manage information technology and computer systems. Recruit and train new IT staff to meet the needs of the organization. Design, develop, implement and coordinate systems, policies and procedures. Ensure security of data, network access and backup systems. Act in alignment with user needs and system functionality to contribute to organizational goals. Identify problematic areas and implement strategic solutions. Help end users with general computer, printer, email and phone troubles. Install hardware and software as required. Respond to support requests, create/modify/review knowledgebase articles to document solutions to unique problems. Research solutions for technical needs and purchase parts and software required. Work with suppliers and manufacturers to determine the best solution when required. Create invoices for parts and software when applicable. Implement large scale upgrades including network infrastructure upgrades and server maintenance/updates/upgrades. Monitor reports from backups, antivirus and overall system health. Support production computers and IT infrastructure in industrial environments.

Qualifications



Knowledgeable in legacy and current versions of Microsoft Windows and Windows Server. Familiarity with Unix type operating systems is an asset. Familiar with common desktop applications including Microsoft Office, Adobe Reader, various web browsers, etc. Understanding of scripting in languages such as Batch, PowerShell, Visual Basic, etc. A good understanding of IT related hardware such as computers, printers, mobile devices, VOIP phone systems, etc. Hands-on experience working with internal components of a computer. Very strong troubleshooting abilities to offer unique solutions to problems where parts or procedures may not be available. Strong work ethic, desire to learn new skills, recognize weak points and offer suggestions to improve overall operations. Well organized and able to handle multiple priorities at once. Able to travel throughout northwestern Ontario and provide your own transportation. Occasionally, air travel may be required. Other Assets: Certifications in any Windows Server versions, networking certifications, Degree in any related field.
