Key Responsibilities

  • Demonstrated ability to run a large, complex IT function within a rapidly growing business environment
  • Excellent communicator, superb listener, with ability to build relationships, community, and influence
  • Experience with strategic planning, project management, and process transformation
  • Knowledge of instructional technologies, administrative systems, cyber security, networking, servers, web technologies, telecommunications, research computing, and user support services
  • Innovative, analytical, and creative in problem solving and implementing solutions
  • Outstanding leadership ability and understanding of organizational and human dynamics
  • Proven track record of managing organizations with complex IT environments
  • Ability to work highly effectively at all levels and with diverse stakeholders, internally and externally
  • Manage contract IT service delivery organizations and SaaS vendors to ensure IT service is delivered as per service level agreements (SLAs) to the sites; optimize site IT service delivery
  • Review adherence to SLAs by IT service delivery teams; provide visibility to site leadership team on SLA performance, gaps, remediation actions taken
  • Ensure that site leadership team take the required actions to ensure employees at the site adhere to established IT processes and comply with IT policies
  • Responsible for development and periodic testing of the technical disaster recovery plan for the sites
  • Responsible for life cycle management of IT infrastructure required for business operations conducted at the sites; maintain an inventory of IT assets and manage risks associated with aging components; develop and sponsor annual capital projects for equipment requiring upgrades
Education and Experience
  • 20+ years of progressive IT experience, majority of which should be in Pharma and must be a hands-on onsite leader.
  • Mix of in-house and consulting leadership experience
  • BS or BA, with some type of degree in computer-related subject
  • SAP S4 + MSFT technology background, including MSFT Project
  • Bachelor\'s degree in Information Technology or related discipline
  • Experience in budgeting, fiscal management, and vendor management
  • Experience working in pharma/biotech manufacturing is highly desirable
  • Must possess excellent prioritization and project management skills
  • Can maintain a strong customer focus and to prioritize and quickly resolve issues
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent technical, analytical, and problem-solving skills
  • Strong team leadership and collaboration skills
  • Ability to travel
Skills and Abilities
  • Proven track record as an IT department leader with a collaborative leadership style (responsible for 40-80 ppl).
  • Pharma + SAP background (must understand R&D, Supply Chain, P2P in a GxP, CSV environment for a similarly sized - $2B company).
  • Proven track record delivering SAP S4 Finance, Procurement and HR functionality.
  • Experience managing outsourced operations/collaborative integration with outsourced IT providers.
