IT CONSULTANT (BAND LEVEL 5)

THE OPPORTUNITY
Reporting to the Manager, Client Services the IT Consultant will provide consulting and support to faculty, staff and students on a variety of computing and networking related topics. As a member of Information Technology\'s Service Desk team, duties include logging and troubleshooting problems related to software and system configuration, difficulties or set-up, and following up with clients; writing client documentation, including user guides and manuals, and writing, reviewing and updating ITS web pages; contributing to and maintaining Service Desk FAQs, etc.; communicating service issues to specific client groups; monitoring incidents and facilitating resolution; communicating service issues to ITS management; monitoring production servers and scheduled jobs; and other related duties as required. This position will require some shift work. THE IDEAL CANDIDATE
Experience (up to 1 year) in computing and communications consulting in a university or enterprise environment; graduation from a four year university or college program with significant course work in Computer Science; or any equivalent combination of experience and training. Excellent customer service, interpersonal, and communications skills; relevant certification, e.g., ITIL Foundations, Microsoft Windows certification, would be an asset.
