Job Description


The IT Business Senior Analyst is an intermediate-level position responsible for liaising between business users and technologists to exchange information in a concise, logical and understandable way in coordination with the Technology team. The overall objective of this role is to contribute to continuous iterative exploration and investigation of business performance and other measures to gain insight and drive business planning.

Responsibilities:

  • Formulate and define systems scope and objectives for complex projects and foster communication between business leaders and IT
  • Consult with users and clients to solve complex system issues/problems through in-depth evaluation of business processes, systems and industry standards and recommends solutions
  • Support system change processes from requirements through implementation and provide input based on analysis of information
  • Consult with business clients to determine system functional specifications and provides user and operational support
  • Identify and communicate risks and impacts, considering business implications of the application of technology to the current business environment
  • Act as advisor or coach to new or lower level analysts and work as a team to achieve business objectives, performing other duties and functions as assigned
  • Has the ability to operate with a limited level of direct supervision.
  • Can exercise independence of judgement and autonomy.
  • Acts as SME to senior stakeholders and /or other team members.
  • Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm\'s reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency.
The AMCSSI team within the Account Master Central Group is seeking a Business Analyst with at least 5 years\xe2\x80\x99 experience to assist the AMCSSI team in key deliverables. AMCSSI is the strategic reference data settlement instruction repository. The application must support backward compatibility to the legacy SSI platform, as well as integrate with Middle and Back Office systems to consume settlement instructions from the strategic platform. Data quality and system performance are vital in ensuring stability in daily transaction processing for the Firm. SSI data must be available, accurate, and complete for global financial markets. Successful candidates will exhibit strong written and verbal communication skills, attention to detail, and be able to work in a dynamic team environment across multiple regions.
  • Work with global user base to gather business requirements, write functional specifications and interface with the technical team to convey requirements
  • Prepare and execute test scripts to prove functionality was delivered according to outlined specifications prior to user engagement
  • Support User Acceptance Testing (UAT) providing training as required, responding to user inquiries and tracking testing progress
  • Provide BAU support, performing the necessary analysis to respond to user inquiries
  • Provide local oversight of AMCSSI BA/QA resources
  • Build relationship with local Accounts Control team, gaining an understanding of current procedures and driving future AMCSSI enhancements towards the improvement of operational efficiency and data quality
Required Skills
  • Bachelor degree in MIS
  • Minimum 5 years of Business Analyst experience
  • Proficiency in writing SQL queries
  • Data Oriented with an excellent attention to detail
  • Advanced knowledge of MS Office, Visio, Project with ability to put together strong analytical presentation materials
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Strong teamwork skills in a small local setting, as well as across different geographic locations
  • Quick learner with ability to produce high quality work while under pressure
Preferred Skills:
  • Background in capital markets settlement instruction reference data
  • Experience/understanding of business process reengineering and business modeling concepts, business systems development and analysis
Qualifications:
  • 5-8 years of relevant experience
  • Experience in data analysis with intermediate/advanced Microsoft Office Suite skills
  • Proven interpersonal, data analysis, diplomatic, management and prioritization skills
  • Consistently demonstrate clear and concise written and verbal communication
  • Proven ability to manage multiple activities and build/develop working relationships
  • Proven self-motivation to take initiative and master new tasks quickly
  • Demonstrated ability to work under pressure to meet tight deadlines and approach work methodically with attention to detail
Education:
  • Bachelor\'s degree/University degree or equivalent experience
