Position Summary

Are you a tech-savvy professional with a passion for building strong business relationships? We're seeking an IT Business Relationship Manager ("BRM") to join our dynamic team in Medicine Hat, Alberta.



At Methanex, we believe in the power of technology to drive business success. Reporting to the Director, Global IT Site Operations, based in Vancouver, you'll serve as the key liaison between our Global IT department and regional business units. Your role will ensure that our IT services align with business needs and objectives. You will manage regional IT team resources and contribute to the development and delivery of an integrated systems roadmap for Methanex Medicine Hat.

Position Responsibilities

Manage stakeholders, including manufacturing, support functions, corporate offices, and country leadership. Oversee business expectations and ensure successful delivery of initiatives. Act as the region's technology thought-leader, shaping demand for technology services and creating a multi-year implementation roadmap for Manufacturing, Corporate Services and Finance Systems. Drive process improvement through business analysis, standardization, and consolidation. Promote data quality and user-friendly reporting and analytics solutions. Communicate the value, risks, and ROI of initiatives, gain sponsorship, and prepare project plans. Collaborate with stakeholders to identify IT solutions and align with IT on project delivery. Escalate and resolve unforeseen demands impacting project plans. Ensure solutions and systems comply with regulatory requirements. Implement change management processes for user adoption and IT service continuity. Manage projects, including requirements, design, prototyping, vendor selection, resource management, testing, documentation, training, change management, and long-term support. Collaborate with Business Owners to define Regional IT services strategy and service level goals. Oversee regional IT service desk, including ticket assignment and performance measurement. Act as gatekeeper for regional demand, managing improvement requests, projects, user training, and unplanned work, utilizing global/regional IT resources as needed. Promote safety by encouraging and managing team reports on safety indicators at the Medicine Hat site. Coach, manage performance, and develop long-term plans for direct reports; support professional development of indirect reports. Apply Global IT and additional performance metrics to measure Regional IT services against business expectations. Champion culture change within IT by modelling desired behaviours and competencies and building awareness of best practices. Actively participate in the Global IT Leadership Team (GITL) and the Global Manufacturing IT Leadership Team (GMITL). Contributes to the organizational vision of Global Methanol Leadership and "one-team". As a team member demonstrates the core values of integrity, trust, respect and professionalism. Conducts all business in a manner which supports the Responsible Care ethic.

Position Qualifications

Education and/or Professional Designation

Completed University Degree in IT, Engineering or another related business discipline or equivalent work and education experience.

Experience and Technical Skills/Knowledge

10+ years in IT, including 3 years in leadership and people management or equivalent work experience. Strong stakeholder management and effective communication at all organizational levels. Experience in analyzing business requirements and translating them into technology solutions. Skilled in negotiating with vendors, managing service providers, and measuring performance. Experience in highly regulated industries.
