Title: IT Business Analyst (REMOTE - need local candidate who can go to office when required)
Location: Toronto, Ontario M5H1H1 CANADA
Duration: Until Sept 30th 2024
Work Hours: Mon - Fri - 9-5:30pm or 8- 4:30pm - candidate can choose.

Typical Day in Role:

• Performs any necessary data mapping and data lineage activities and documents information flows to support specific business requirements
• Performs data profiling, analyzes and communicates results in support of data quality processes
• Builds the metadata model and business glossary by gathering information from multiple sources: business users, existing data sources, databases and other relevant documents and systems
• Participates in knowledge transfer within the team, business units and provide recommendation opportunities to enhance productivity, effectiveness and operational efficiency of the business unit and/or team
• Monitors project progress by tracking activity, resolving problems, publishing progress reports and recommending actions.
• Work in an Agile mindset to accelerate the delivery of the project
• Prepares technical reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends
• Assesses, researches, analyzes, and documents project needs and outcomes by selecting the appropriate information gathering and/or modelling technique to elicit requirements

Must haves:
1. 5+ years of experience as a Technical Business Analyst
2. Data Governance and data management experience - Understanding of data concepts (metadata, data mapping, data quality, data modeling, data governance)
3. Stakeholder/Project management experience - Strong experience of business analysis processes, frameworks with documenting processes and data flows
4. Experience working with data management tools - Collibra
5. Experience in agile project methodology and artifacts, on software/application development lifecycle in an agile fashion

Nice to have:

• Knowledge of programming language
• Previous FI experience
• Cloud knowledge
• Experience with enterprise data lakes and data warehouses

Soft Skills:

• Strong oral and written communication skills and comfortable presenting to a variety of audiences
• Detail oriented and skilled in summarizing and provides insights from complicated processes
• Self-motivated to solve problems and able to work collaboratively with other team members

Education and Certifications: Strong technical education background, majoring in fields that require a high degree of analytical skills, such as Engineering, Computer Science, Physics, Math, Statistics or related field
