Profile

Reporting to the Director, IT - 515 Program, the IT Business Analyst position is to assist business teams in the analysis, planning and implementation of efficient business, and operations solutions in support of core organizational functions and business processes. The IT Business Analyst is to execute both technical and analytical functions to ensure smooth flow of business in the organization. They will document stakeholder requirements and collaborate with all necessary stakeholders to determine scope items. With that, they will create detailed Business Requirement Documents (BRD) and translate them into functional specifications. The role may assist in monitoring project plans, schedules, work hours, budgets and expenditures, and organizing and participating in stakeholder meetings. They may also partake in the maintenance of critical business systems and assist clients and other experts on the team in resolving issues related to software application support. To succeed in this role, you should have excellent time management and communication skills, as you'll collaborate with internal teams to deliver results on deadlines. You will also need to be able to work on tight deadlines, be competent in using Microsoft Office applications such as Word and Excel, and have exceptional verbal, written, and presentation skills. Travel may be required.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Determines operational and project objectives by studying business functions; gathering information; evaluating output requirements and formats
  • Define and document business functions and processes
  • Document stakeholder requirements and collaborate with all necessary stakeholders to determine scope items
  • Creates detailed Business Requirement Documents (BRD) and translate them into functional specifications
  • Test software based on De Havilland best practices and specifications
  • Analyzes the feasibility of, and develop requirements for, new systems and enhancements to existing systems; ensures the system design fits the needs of the users
  • Acts as the liaison between various employees, technology, and support teams
  • Assign tasks to internal teams and assist with schedule management
  • Analyze risks and opportunities
  • Monitor project progress and handle any issues that arise
  • Develop and maintain an effective work intake and management process
  • Follow the development, and release of processes, procedures and systems required to accomplish goals
  • Represent the team at various cross functional meetings and/or projects; promote existing and new programs and/or policies
  • Participate on teams or projects which recommend, coordinate, and implement changes and/or improvements to products or systems
  • Documenting and following up on important actions and decisions from meetings
  • Preparing necessary presentation materials for meetings
  • Providing administrative support as needed
  • Undertaking project tasks as required
  • Communicate with customers concerning issue escalation and established procedures
  • Manage critical issues to resolution
  • Perform other operational duties as required
  • Support the company's the vision and goals
Education and Experience:
  • Bachelor's degree or technical diploma from an accredited institution in Computer Science, Information Technology (IT) or related field
  • 5+ years of IT experience working as a functional, Data, or Business Analyst
  • CCBA or CBAP from the IIBA
Skills and Abilities:
  • Solid understanding of business process and supporting technologies
  • Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment
  • Demonstrated team player with ability to learn quickly
  • Demonstrated high level of self-motivation with a strong desire to solve problems
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Aptitude to understand and resolve complex issues, and excellent customer-service skills
  • Possess adaptability and change friendly attitude
  • Proven ability to get results with a 'can do' attitude in a fast paced and dynamic environment
