About the role




Reporting to the Manager, Software Development, the IT Business Analyst Senior will play a leading role in delivering a portfolio of projects. You will have to understand the business, the technical vision as well as the objectives pursued. You will be responsible for obtaining, analyzing, documenting, communicating, and validating business requirements, designing or modifying procedures to improve efficiency and achieve expected results. You will facilitate interaction between various IT and business departments based on Intact’s System Development Life (SDLC). You demonstrate advanced knowledge of the IT business analysis area of practice.
You will have to develop and maintain strong business relationships and collaborate effectively with IT, operations and change management teams. Main responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with stakeholders to gather and document business needs and translate them into technical requirements.
  • Perform requirements analysis and identify gaps.
  • When needed, challenge / negotiate such requirements to align them with the best way of using technology.
  • Facilitate the development of business process changes related to business requirements.
  • Identify opportunities to enhance Business processes and reporting.
  • Translate business requirements into solutions with Architects and Specialists.
  • Ensure solutions meet business requirements.
  • Build strong, functional relationships with multiple business units to understand their needs and provide consultation.
  • Draft, review and recommend changes to documentation (business processes, system documentation and procedures) to facilitate user training and the integration of new processes and technologies into everyday operations.
  • Act as an intermediary between IT, users, and managers from multiple organizational levels.
  • Liaise with other teams impacted by changes.
  • Ensure solutions are deployed with appropriate change management oversight.
  • Effectively communicate your insights and plans to cross-functional team members and management.





Qualifications




What you bring to the table:
  • A bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience as an IT business analyst in waterfall and/or agile development environments in a large organization (CBAP or equivalent certification is an asset).
  • An equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Exceptional analytical and conceptual thinking skills.
  • Knowledge of requirements modelling, and workflow analysis.
  • The ability to challenge stakeholders at all levels and work closely with them to determine solutions.
  • Demonstrated ability to cope with change effectively.
  • Demonstrated understanding complex technical and business documentation.
  • Demonstrated initiative and ability to work independently.
  • Leadership, time, and priority management skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple initiatives concurrently.
  • Excellent communication skills (oral and written).
  • Experience with software or system development processes and major development methods.
  • Experience with Home, Auto, and/or Lifestyle insurance is a strong asset.
  • Nice to have: Bilingual (French/English).
  • Strong competency in Microsoft applications including Word, Excel, PowerPoint.
