- Accountable for the Configuration and Asset Management operation (strategy, people, process/policy and tools)
- Creation, implementation and communication of configuration management plans, processes, and standards.
- Creation, implementation and communication of the service asset management policy and standards.
- Making sure that assets are uniquely identified according to naming conventions and ensuring that all IT personnel comply with identification standards for object types, environments, processes, lifecycles, documentation, versions, formats, baselines, releases and templates
- Proposing and agreeing interfaces with change management, problem management, network management, release management, computer operations, logistics, finance and administration functions
- Developing and maintaining the configuration management process in collaboration with your other IT business stakeholders.
- Monitoring the population of the asset register and configuration management database
- Reviewing the Asset and Configuration Management processes on a regular basis for efficiency and effectiveness ensuring any agreed changes to the processes are properly approved and communicated
