Job Summary
An opportunity to contribute your valued expertise The Digital Strategies & Services Branch (DSSB) provides a range of information technology and information management services for the Ministry of Education and Childcare (ECC). The Branch works closely with the Office of the Chief Information Officer (OCIO) and Corporate Information & Records Management Office (CIRMO) to ensure, ECC plans, and initiatives are aligned with the government\'s overall technology and privacy protection direction and standards.

DSSB provides information security and privacy guidance to the ministry and assists the K-12 sector, which includes when requested support for K-12 NGN Network and Network Security services which provides secure internet access to digital resources. This enables the delivery of educational services to more than 560,000 students across 60 school districts and 1,600 public schools and facilities in British Columbia.

The Senior Security Analyst delivers information technology security support and ensuring the ministry remains in compliance by responding to and/or assisting with information security and privacy breaches affecting the ministry and/or its partners.

Job Requirements:

  • Degree, diploma, or certification in the computer science field. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
  • Minimum three (3) years\xe2\x80\x99 relevant experience developing and managing data security frameworks/architectures (includes during certification), preferably in a Microsoft environment.
  • Minimum two (2) years\xe2\x80\x99 experience leading technical investigations and handling multiple active issues, preferably in a large and complex environment.
  • Minimum three (3) years\xe2\x80\x99 experience in identifying and evaluating security risks from a business and technological standpoint, preferably in a large and complex environment.
  • Minimum two (2) years\xe2\x80\x99 experience in incident management and incident response., preferably in a large and complex environment.
Preference may be given to applicants with any of the following:
  • Professional designation as a Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP), Certified Cloud Security Professional (CCSP) or equivalent.
  • Minimum two (2) years\xe2\x80\x99 experience contributing to security architecture processes that enable the enterprise to develop and implement secure cloud solutions and capabilities that are clearly aligned with the business, technology, and threat drivers, preferably in a large and complex environment.
  • Minimum two (2) years\xe2\x80\x99 experience reviewing/conducting complex information security threat and risk assessments, preferably in a large and complex environment.
  • Minimum of two (2) years\xe2\x80\x99 experience with Cloud based vendor assessments.
  • Minimum of two (2) years\xe2\x80\x99 experience evaluating Privacy Impact Assessments from a technology standpoint.
  • An equivalent combination of education and related experience may be considered.
