Key Accountabilities:
  • Provides remarkable and high-quality investment support services to our branch network and internal & external partners, through effective execution, accuracy, and attention to detail.
  • Demonstrates the expertise required to understand a member\xe2\x80\x99s unique circumstances and using critical thinking skills, helps us to deliver on our vision to do what is right for every member while ensuring we balance the interests and responsibilities of the credit union.
  • Processes a wide variety of tasks, as they relate to investment processes such as clearing, overdrafts, e-transfers balancing, and many other processes.
  • Reviews cFCU internal reports for errors & discrepancies; resolves identified discrepancies in a timely manner.
  • Reviews and performs high risk investment transactions; this includes providing requirements and status of registered and non-registered investment plan transactions.
  • Reviews and performs high risk estate transactions; this includes improving estate management policies and procedures, and completing the estate disbursement and closure.
  • Creates a remarkable member experience through proactive, timely and effective administration support while responding to complex process inquiries and provides technical support to the department and the department/branch network.
  • Identifies and resolves compliance queries and processing errors while mitigating any impact to the member experience and credit union; refers complex inquiries accordingly.
  • Supports year-end balancing, reporting to CRA, and conducting several internal audits.
  • Conducts research and provides recommendations to support business decisions.
  • Overall management and processing of specialized investments such as LIRA, LIF and RESP while ensuing liaison with Concentra, CRA, etc.
  • Assists in supervising the management of all third party demands.
  • Ensures audit controls and risk management processes and practices are in place; identifies and recommends to management potential improvements or immediate risk concerns.
  • Proactively identifies and addresses process and procedure challenge and makes recommendations for improvement to innovate and elevate our business best practice.
  • Supports the development, implementation, and maintenance of departmental initiatives/programs including leading and participating into departmental projects.
  • Remains current on organizational practices, policies, procedures and legislative requirements; identifies areas requiring clarification or improvement and referring to management for action.
  • Acts as a resource, provide back up coverage and provide training to other staff within the department.
  • Assists management team by providing supervision to the team members, when necessary.
  • Builds collaborative working relationships with staff external to the department and external networks within area of specialization to facilitate and continually improve member journey.
  • Job duties as otherwise assigned.
Experience and/or Educational Requirements:
  • 4 - 6 years experience in retail banking.
  • Completed a relevant certificate, diploma, degree or designation program.
  • Strong knowledge pertaining to all investment facilities including product knowledge and supporting processes, regulations and banking policies and procedures; working knowledge of Estates and Deposit policies and procedures considered an asset.
  • An equivalent combination of education and experience may also be considered.
Skills and Competencies:
  • Strong computer skills in Microsoft Office applications and ability to learn other programs.
  • Excellent communications skills; both written and verbal.
  • Strong critical thinking and analytical skills.
  • Strong understanding of tax reporting requirements.
  • Excellent organizational and multi-tasking skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail.
