The OMERS Investment Analyst Rotation Program is a two-year program that gives you the opportunity to develop your career by completing three eight-month placements. You will work with investment leaders and complete your rotations* in three of the following possible groups:

  • Capital Markets
  • Infrastructure
  • Private Equity
  • Real Estate (Oxford Properties)
  • Treasury
*Rotational placements may be subject to change to ensure they align with business priorities

Upon completion of the program, you may be eligible for a permanent role at OMERS.

As a member of this team, you will be responsible for:
  • Evaluating new investment opportunities
  • In collaboration with the deal teams, conduct research and review data specific to each industry to identify and evaluate new investment opportunities.
  • Conducting financial analysis, modelling and due diligence
  • Perform quantitative and qualitative analysis, build financial models and conduct financial and operational due diligence to support investment decisions.
  • Supporting asset/portfolio management
  • Support the active management of each business groups existing portfolio by monitoring and evaluating operational and financial performance, assist with special projects and other requests on an as needed basis.
To succeed in this role, you have:
  • Enrollment in the final year of study in a Business, Math or Economics program that will be completed by summer of 2024
  • Proven track record of strong academic and extracurricular achievements.
  • Strong analytical, quantitative and financial modeling skills.
  • Highly proficient in Microsoft Office applications, specifically Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Commitment to learning and intellectual curiosity, with a passion for investing.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while managing multiple priorities and timelines.
  • Strong leadership skills, with a commitment to collaborative sharing of knowledge in a collegial environment.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, with strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong research, problem-solving and project management skills, self-motivated with a strong work ethic and high level of attention to detail.
  • Driven to achieve results and continuously striving to deliver the highest performance through creative thinking.
  • Working towards a CFA designation considered an asset but not required.
