Lonza Kingston is IMMEDIATELY hiring an Inventory and Warehouse Manager where we have cutting edge technology such as the Cocoon\xc2\xae Platform. The responsibilities include: lead the shipping, receiving, kitting and inventory control processes within two warehouses in Kingston, ON. The Warehouse and Inventory manager will demonstrate, initiative, inclusiveness and integrity when working with others while working on projects that include Manufacturing, Engineering and Customer service/Logistics and Sales.

Leadership:

  • Lead a team comprising of Shipper, Receiver, Inventory Control and Material Handlers on a day to day basis while embracing the following values

Initiative \xe2\x80\x93 takes the lead on change requests and addresses outages to the point of completion when the issue pertains to Warehouse, shipping, receiving and kitting.
  • Lead the barcoding system and integration project for the warehouse
  • Track and reports on KPIs specific to the warehousing operations
  • Identifies resource constraints and manages to prioritize based on customer demands
  • Organizes daily, weekly, monthly tasks
  • Identifies and addresses gaps in resources given workloads
  • Collaborates with manufacturing, customer service & logistics, purchasing and management team members to meet internal and external customer deadlines
Safety
  • Maintain the safe and secure operations of the 2 separate warehouse locations in Kingston ON.
  • Ensure the safety of employees and contractors while they are in the warehouse
  • Maintain all equipment calibrated, certified and in good working condition
  • Assess the impact of materials received
  • Ensure safe loading and unloading of trucks and vehicles on warehouse premises
GMP/Quality
  • Ensure that the Quality Management system is implemented and maintained in the Warehousing operations to ensure accuracy and quality of the records are maintained.
  • Performing recall operations
  • Address Nonconformances, recall processes, customer complaints and product damage due to shipments
  • Ensure that inventory cycle counts are performed on time and necessary corrective actions are taken for any outages; ensure all data is secured and protected against accidental or unauthorized modifications
  • Keep accurate records for disposition or returned, rejected, recalled or falsified products
  • Approve any returns to saleable stock
  • Adhere to Lonza GMP and Environmental controls (Temperature monitoring), cleanliness requirements
  • Follow procedures to appropriately destroy/remove products/parts in a timely manner, once Material Review Board has provided authorization
  • Maintain the FIFO and/or FEFO principle.
Reliability
  • Use validated processes/SOPs to perform the work onsite
  • Train and qualify team members on job responsibilities including Receiving, Shipping, Picking, Packing, Kitting
  • Complete PM on equipment used on a timely manner and maintain records
  • Ensure parts and product are kept as per required storage conditions (Temperature, moisture, light, off the ground)
Costs
  • Takes responsibility for managing the departmental expenses
  • Tracks spending and address outages where needed
  • Prepares annual budgets and may manage capital projects
Key responsibilities:

Technical Knowledge
  • Learn technical aspects of the job quickly
  • Perform root-cause analysis, leading, and completing investigations
  • In-depth knowledge of cGMP principles.
  • Identify breach of cGMP principles and provide/suggest corrective actions.
Leadership
  • Operates with integrity in work performance and interaction with others
  • Creates and follows timelines
  • Lead small group/teams to identify root cause analysis using Fishbone diagrams and other methodologies
  • Tenacious in identifying key root causes and ensuring all parties agree
  • Follow up and follow through on commitments made
  • Leverages PM skills
Computer/software Skills
  • Intermediate level understanding of ERP systems
  • Proficient in the use of spreadsheets, databases, and word processing software.

  • Able to propose ideas during problem solving, root cause analysis, and process improvement events. Provides suggestions for improvement to documentation and workflows.

  • Writing is typically free of punctuation, spelling and grammatical errors
  • Communicates verbally and in writing in a clear and concise manner. Is able to effectively present information and ideas formally and informally to others in a manner that facilitates understanding.
  • Capable of effectively representing the department in meetings and on project teams. Provides timely, clear, and accurate updates without being prompted.

Key Requirements:
  • Bachelor\xe2\x80\x99s Degree or equivalent is required; Science, Commerce or similar focus, preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years of working experience in manufacturing from a biotech, pharmaceutical, medical device or similar industry required.
  • Minimum of 3 years of previous working experience as a leader in a GMP environment is required.
  • Some experience managing Warehouse budget required.
  • Good Computer skills and knowledge of MS Office Suite required;
  • Certification in Supply Chain, Logistics and/ or PMP is a plus
