Job Summary

The Inventory Control Specialist plays a critical role in managing inventory levels and ensuring the efficient flow of materials within the supply chain. This position involves analyzing data, forecasting demand, and collaborating with various departments to optimize inventory processes. The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical skills and experience with inventory management systems, contributing to improved operational efficiency and accuracy.

Duties

Monitor and maintain accurate inventory levels through data collection and analysis. Utilize analytics tools such as Tableau and Power BI for data visualization and reporting. Collaborate with purchasing and procurement teams to ensure timely sourcing of materials. Implement demand planning strategies to forecast inventory needs effectively. Manage warehouse distribution processes, including order fulfillment and materials management. Conduct regular audits of inventory to identify discrepancies and implement process improvements. Utilize ERP systems, including AS400, to track inventory movements and manage stock levels. Negotiate with suppliers to optimize costs while maintaining quality standards. Support e-commerce operations by ensuring product availability and timely replenishment. Analyze supply chain processes to identify areas for improvement in efficiency and cost-effectiveness.

Experience

Candidates should have a background in inventory control or supply chain management, with experience in the following areas considered advantageous:

Proficiency in data analysis skills, including SQL for database management. Familiarity with warehouse management systems (WMS) and third-party logistics (3PL). Experience in retail management or merchandising is a plus. Knowledge of materials management principles and order fulfillment processes. Strong negotiation skills with a focus on procurement strategies. Ability to perform data mining for actionable insights into inventory trends.
