Inventory Clerk

Job Description

Reporting to the Inventory & Logistics Supervisor and working under the direction of the Buyers, the Inventory Clerk is responsible for the processing of purchasing transactions and maintaining inventories to meet customer requirements. This includes being responsible for analyzing and verifying the integrity of the data entered into Company systems, striving to obtain maximum cost savings and managing the inventory investment according to Company guidelines, ensuring compliance with procedures and processes.

MAIN DUTIES



Complies with company policies and procedures and supports company mission, values, and standards of ethics and integrity. Meets or exceeds all goals and key performance indicators (KPIs). Maintains data integrity standards as set by the Buyers and Inventory & Logistics Supervisor. Creates & updates SKUs, assigning them to the correct categories and adding description, price, and other details provided by the Buyers. Reconciles receiving paperwork against Purchase Orders for a complete and accurate record of products received. Physically inspects deliveries when necessary to this end. Shows continuous improvement at finding the information needed to post invoices when that information is missing or conflicting. Records best before dates and/or lot numbers in POS system for all incoming food products. Checks and confirms unacceptable or unclear dates. Sends pricing calculators to the Buyer in a timely manner. Updates prices promptly when directed by the Buyers. Checks that lines of products are priced consistently. Communicates the readiness status of incoming orders and any special instructions to Stock Fulfillment leads. Reports damaged, missing, mis-picked, and short-dated product to the Buyer. Prepares and submits claims to Credits if necessary. Follows established procedures for staff and customer special orders. Responsible for physical movement of special orders to applicable department. Creates special prices for promotions and clearance sales. Investigates minor inventory discrepancies reported by floor staff. Refers major or chronic discrepancies to Inventory & Logistics Supervisor. Performs cycle counts. Assists in preparing for and resolving the annual storewide inventory count. Practices safe use, proper care, and maintenance of all tools and equipment required by the position. Promptly reports issues with equipment to a supervisor. Effectively communicates with all Team Members regarding proper department operations. Attends all department, store and training meetings when scheduled. Maintains a calm demeanor and manages issues professionally and respectfully in accordance with company standards. QUALIFICATIONS, COMPETENCIES & EXPERIENCE:



o 1 to 2 years of relevant experience. o Diploma of professional studies in a related field. o Sound analytical thinking, planning, prioritization, and execution skills. o Attention to detail and accuracy. o Problem-solving skills, resourcefulness, and willingness to take initiative. o Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills are required. o Proven proficiency with Microsoft Office products including Excel. o Strong arithmetic skills are an asset. o Good communication skills.
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: $19.00-$21.00 per hour
